ABOUT LAUNCH / LEADERSHIP
The LAUNCH leadership team is comprised of three partners who have extensive experience and in aviation, technical staffing and financial strategy. Together they are leading the company to be an innovative, customer-driven and technologically advanced partner for companies looking for creative solutions for their technical workforce needs.
As CEO of LAUNCH, Ian guides the overall vision and direction of the company. He is a 25-year veteran of the aerospace industry. His extensive experience and industry contacts have taken him from executive management to ownership in multiple aviation companies with impressive success. He has a long history of experience with MROs, aviation contract labor, and aircraft interior modifications. Today, Ian and his partners are working to reinvent the technical staffing business through innovation and technology.
Most recently, Ian owned and led Volant Aerospace. He originally acquired the company as International Aero Interiors, Inc. in 2008. He reinvented the company and, together with his partners, evolved it to become the worlds leading aircraft interior parts specialist for both Boeing and Airbus aircrafts. In 2012, Ian and his partners sold Volant Aerospace to ST Engineering.
Prior to getting involved in the aircraft interiors industry, Ian worked with multiple companies in aviation contract labor. He worked for AirMate, a leading aviation contract labor company, and advanced from sales to its president over the course of his tenure. He then led the opportunity to purchase the company in 2003 along with a partner who owned PlaneTechs, another aviation staffing company. The two fostered the success of that firm and later sold it to TrueBlue, Inc., a leading national supplier of day and skilled labor in 2007.
Ian is a graduate of the University of Washington. He is a member of Phil Gamma Delta Fraternity, The Seattle Yacht Club, The Chicago Yacht Club and the Wings Club in New York. Ian also sits on the board of directors of EdgeAlliance, a charitable organization that works to provide quality housing and services for vulnerable individuals and families. He has two children and resides in Chicago, IL.
As President and CFO of LAUNCH, Mike manages the overall strategy and financial planning of the company. During his 22-year career, he has helped lead a diverse set of companies on leadership, strategy, operations and finance. Mike has developed relationships and provided aviation-related resources to MRO’s, airlines, leasing companies and engineering firms. Mike has a passion for entrepreneurship and a long history of leading his clients and employers to financial success.
Most recently, Mike led Volant Aerospace as its President and CFO. Mike established the strategic direction of the company, built a management team and developed its commercial relationships. He advised on the initial acquisition of the company, as well as its later sale to ST Engineering in 2012, after helping to double its revenue in just four years.
Mike began his career in public accounting at Ernst & Young LLP, where he advised CEOs on business strategies and financial transaction alternatives for maximizing shareholder value. He then spent ten years as an investment banker and eventually became a co-founder of a boutique investment banking firm in Chicago. His clients there included Fortune 100, mid- and small cap public firms and a broad array of privately owned businesses.
Mike has a B.A. from Miami University (Ohio) and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago with concentrations on finance and entrepreneurship. He is married with three children and resides in Chicago, IL.
As COO of LAUNCH, Jean oversees all of the day-to-day operations of the company, including recruitment, HR, marketing, compliance and finance, LAUNCH methodologies and office operations. She is a 20-year veteran of the technology industry. Jeans extensive experience in executive management and ownership in the technology and aviation industries provide her with a unique capability to play a key role in LAUNCH.
Most recently, Jean was the COO of Volant Aerospace. Her focus on process improvement, efficient work procedures, financial management and human resources helped evolve the company into a world leader in aircraft interior manufacturing. Her contributions aided in positioning the company well financially, making it an attractive acquisition for ST Engineering in 2012.
Jean’s interest in IT management began immediately following college. She worked for seven years at Computer Partners, Inc., a national IT management consulting organization. While there, she developed relationships with executives in companies such as Boise Cascade, McDonalds and Nordstrom. She later worked for Computer People as a regional recruiter and branch manager. Eventually, one of her top clients, Weyerhaeuser, asked her to join their firm, where she went on to develop project management processes for the company. In addition she was involved in IT strategy, mergers and acquisitions and organizational change management for Weyerhaeuser.
Jean is a graduate of Northern Illinois University. She holds a Masters Certificate in IT Project Management from George Washington University. She is a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority, St. Ignatius Womens Service Organization and the Chicago Yacht Club. She is also a volunteer at Executive Service Corp (ESC), an organization that provides strategic planning, business plan development and board development consulting services to non-profit agencies throughout Illinois. She has two children and resides with them in Hinsdale, IL.
As Vice President of LAUNCH, Paul oversees all recruiting efforts for the company including overall management of the ATS and on–boarding software, hiring and managing recruiters and developing innovative recruiting techniques and communications tools for accessing the top aviation and engineering talent available. In addition, Paul provides direction for the company’s operations, including HR, compliance, marketing and information technology. His long history in aviation staffing and his extensive aviation industry contacts also make him a crucial part of the client development team.
Previously, Paul served as Vice President of Recruiting Operations for PlaneTechs, an aviation staffing firm owned by TrueBlue, Inc. Paul started with AirMate in 2000 and helped grow the company after it merged with PlaneTechs. His outstanding recruiting efforts, coupled with Ian Rollo’s sales and leadership roles there, led the two to increase company’s revenue tenfold over the course of five years. Paul remained on staff with PlaneTechs after TrueBlue acquired it and led the recruiting department to further growth using innovative recruiting and management techniques.
Paul has more than 20 years of recruiting and management experience and is a big asset to the leadership team at LAUNCH. He and his wife have five children and reside in Chicago, IL.
