Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex or unusual problems or assignments requiring independent judgment and ingenuity to Plan, schedule and route inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy.
  • Coordinates with carriers, audits freight bills, prepares and negotiates claims, and selects or recommends carriers to ensure efficient, timely and least expensive movement of goods and materials. Conducts research on transportation methods, rates and routes.
  • Files claims against carriers for losses, damages and/or overcharges and audits freight bills. Develops programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and evaluates past performance and cost of transportation.
  • Analyzes transportation and distribution methods and procedures to develop and utilize the most economical advantages and efficient means of delivering products, based on an evaluation of freight classifications, tariff rates, and operating capabilities, and concurrent with delivery schedules and deadlines.
  • This position may provide administrative and technical leadership over other employees in the department.  

Qualifications and requirements:

 

  • Associate level degree or equivalent from and seven (7) or more years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Level of Supervision Required: Works under general direction. Guidance as to results expected and complex problem resolution. Exercises latitude in determining activities and approaches within moderate to wide parameters.
  • Communicate effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
  • Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations to small or large groups. Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, travel between facilities and operate standard office equipment. Work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week as required. Work Environment:

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Fabricator Technicians applies basic and some advanced technical skills and knowledge to perform various production operations to fabricate, assemble and repair metallic and nonmetallic parts and assemblies for aerospace industry applications.

 

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

 

Performs tasks that are simple to moderately complex requiring some skill, experience and judgment to complete relative to fabrication, assembly and repair of metallic and nonmetallic detail parts, subassemblies and assemblies.

 

Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material with or without templates or shop aides. Routes, saws, drills or otherwise change and add value to detail parts and subassemblies according to work instructions.

 

Uses hand and power tools such as routers, drill motors, die grinders and other like tools to complete the required operations called out in the work instructions. Trims parts to fit and files, grinds, deburrs, bevels edges, polishes surfaces and other wise finishes out the material, part or assembly to specifications.

 

Assembles detail parts into subassemblies and complete assemblies using written and verbal work instructions. Installs rivets, bolts, screws and clips and prepares and applies adhesives. Inspects assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications.

 

Operates production machines and equipment such as hot or cold presses, band saws, and other like production machines to fabricate parts, components and material for production uses.

 

Reviews production and process documentation and production scheduling and planning and assist in expediting the flow of material, parts and assemblies.

 

Qualifications and requirements:

 

  • Must have experience in light fabrication and assembly of non-metallic and metallic parts and assemblies for aerospace industry applications.
  • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
  • Must be willing to work any shift.
  • Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Working within a cross-functional and cross-divisional engineering environment, the Certification Engineer is responsible for coordinating and performing regulatory compliance activities required to support the development and installation of aircraft components, assisting with sustaining activities for certifications, and supporting foreign authority validations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
The Certification Engineer works under the direction of the Manager, Certification Engineering to perform the following:

  • Support preparation of technical proposals for customers by reviewing and interpreting regulatory compliance specifications and requirements. Includes providing certification engineering labor and schedule estimates for the proposed project.

  • Support Program Management in the creation and maintenance of certification project schedules, resource assignments, and budgets. Includes establishment of certification milestones required to complete projects.

  • Identify the regulatory compliance requirements during project conceptual phase. Generate or assist with development of project compliance matrix.

  • Create preliminary project specific certification plan (PSCP), compliance checklist, and conformity inspection plan and complete project application.

  • Work closely with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in managing, refining, and achieving PSCP objectives to ensure that all agreed upon product specific certification requirements are met.

  • Review drawings and reports to ensure conformity to regulatory requirements. Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies that could impede regulatory approval of the design data package.

  • Develop or direct generation of substantiation documentation including detailed test plans, reports, analyses, issue papers, and compliance documentation. Review to ensure that deliverables show compliance with customer, functional, and regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare or assist with development of conformity inspection plans and conformity requests. Actively work with Quality Assurance and project inspection designees to ensure accomplishment of project conformity inspections and documentation.

  • Submit data as necessary and provide certification and technical liaison with appropriate regulatory agency groups such as aircraft certification, flight standards, manufacturing inspection, and continued airworthiness.

  • Research regulations, develop data, and create final documentation in response to FAA or foreign regulatory agency requests. Effectively communicate responses to FAA or foreign regulatory agency in a timely manner.

  • Recommend and participate or lead organizational improvement initiatives that involve cross-functional team settings and responsibilities.

  • Communicate with customer to establish understanding of customer’s technical requirements and convey certification capabilities and requirements.

  • Enhance technical knowledge by routinely reading technical publications, enrolling in educational courses, and engaging in professional associations.

  • Provide complex training to team members and/or personnel in other departments.

Qualifications and requirements:

 

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in engineering or related field of study with ten (10) or more years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and industry experience may be considered. Aerospace and aircraft structures experience is preferred.

  • Strong MS Office skills: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel.

  • Skills in the use of 2D and/or 3D design software a plus.

  • Optimally utilize all channels of communications.

  • Ability to prioritize workloads and show flexibility to changing situations/demands.

  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality.

  • Ensures engineering specifications, drawings and other technical documents are produced to standard engineering practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluates and approves design changes and drawing releases.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor level degree in appropriate engineering discipline, master level degree preferred, or equivalent and nine (9) plus year’s related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Communicate effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
  • Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations to small or large groups.
  • Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Competent in the use of design and project management software.
  • Professional Engineer Certification preferred.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management.  Bachelor Degree in Management or equivalent and a minimum of fifteen (15) years experience in Quality Assurance with five (5) years experience in management. 
  • Directs from 2 to 5 managers and through them 20 to 50 professional, technical and production and maintenance Stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
  • Sound working knowledge of computer systems and applications and competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
