  • Authoring Engineering documents associated with the above tasks, such as ER/A’s (Engineering Repair/ Authorization), AA’s (Action Authorizations), AMDS (Aircraft Maintenance Document System) work cards, etc.
  • Substantiating the airworthiness/ regulatory compliance of engineering documents.
  • Maintaining compliance with applicable FAA, DOT, ICAO, FCC, OSHA regulations and Company’s Technical Operations Policy and Procedures (TOPP) pertaining to the above responsibilities.

The individual should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an operations environment with a large and diverse complement of employees, and ability to work with minimal supervision and complete ownership of projects. Qualifications and Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Management, or Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related discipline is strongly preferred; equivalent- A&P License with 3 years airline work experience is acceptable.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain processes and metrics, ability to influence without authority, and work in a matrix environment is a highly preferred.
  • Advanced computer, analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills is highly preferred.
  • Experience in database mining in the Hyperion or equivalent environment to identify aircraft parts reliability trends is a strong plus. Candidates with experience in data science or advanced analytics will be strongly considered.
  • Must be a strong team player, detail oriented, and exhibit a healthy curiosity or interest in aviation.
  • Candidate should demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and structure/deliver presentations targeted toward varied audiences including company leadership.
  • Must be a self-starter able to work independently with limited supervision and effectively prioritize and deliver on tasks.

Responsibilities: 
Under the direction of the Logistics Supervisor, the Kitting Clerk will assemble Aircraft Parts and interior Integration kits using released engineering design data and parts lists. Responsibilities will include insuring parts are at the correct revision level and complying with Conformity and PMA part requirements.

 

• Read and understand released engineering data to include parts lists, drawings, test plans and service bulletins.

• Maintain correct revision level of manufactured parts and parts lists.

• Ensure parts and installation kits are properly identified and labeled.

• Ensure proper certification paperwork is maintained with parts throughout kitting process.

• Perform work in a neat and organized manner within estimated or budgeted hours while maintaining high standards of quality.

• Operate necessary equipment for the packaging of parts and kits.

• Complete all required paperwork for kitting and certification.

• Safely operate forklifts (sit down and standup), pallet jacks and hand trucks.

• Perform all other duties assigned by Logistics Supervisor or Supply Chain Planning Manager.

• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs in job turnovers. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities (offsite / off-shift training) and continuous self-improvement through trade publications.

• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests (cross training), exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Job Description:

  • Inspect, service, test, repair, remove and replace aircraft electrical instruments and electronic equipment, including: power system components, instrument systems, indicating and warning systems, aircraft automatic flight control systems, including auto-pilots, automatic flight stabilization, aircraft compasses and altitude reference systems, auxiliary power plants, airborne communication, navigation displays, etc.
  • Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Perform operational checks after maintenance is performed to ensure proper operation.
  • Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems, using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Test engine and system operations, using testing equipment.
  • Perform maintenance IAW FAA approved technical data.
  • Research FAA technical data to locate applicable data relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Primary Requirements/Preferences:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.
  • Bench experience is needed (from electronic stores, etc. as they understand electronics at the bench level.)
  • Military Avionics Tech school ( back Shop Emphasis)
  • Electronic engineering technology
  • Electronics troubleshooting
  • FCC or other electronics focused licenses
  • 2 year electronics degree Experience may include, but is not limited to:
  • 2 year’s experience troubleshooting electronics down to component level on circuit cards. (eg. Resisters, capacitors, diodes, transistors, IC Chips,)
  • Working with electronic schematics.
  • Various meters and back shop measuring devices.

  • Automated test equipment (ATE)
  • Consumer electronics experience is valued. (TV’s, radios, and other circuit devices that contain electronic circuit cards)
  • Testing with specialized equipment.
  • High reliability solder under a microscope.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three years documented aircraft avionics systems experience or an associate degree in avionics from an approved technical school.
  • Must have 3-5 years experience within commercial aviation.
  • Prefer previous experience and qualifications associated with EWIS/SFAR88.
  • Must be able to read and write at a level to enable him/her to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals, blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Must be able to document maintenance performed on required forms.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

• Reads and interprets wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, Test plans and work instructions.

Job Summary:

The Aviation Maintenance Technician – Avionics Shop performs maintenance including but not limited to inspection, test, and repair of aircraft avionic/electronic components in an avionics bench repair environment in accordance with Delta approved manuals and methods. This position also performs repairs to the component level e.g. transistor, resistor, capacitor, etc. replacement. Additionally, this position performs appropriate computer functions and provides documentation to ensure that maintenance records, parts tracking and costs may be accurately recorded. Must adhere to all Delta policies and standards. Ensures a safe, clean and compliant work environment is maintained. The successful candidate will be responsible for consistently practicing safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Job Qualifications:

 

The Aviation Maintenance Technician position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidate must have at least two years of bench avionics/electronics component repair experience or a minimum of 21 months of academic training specializing in avionics/electronics component repair. Candidate must pass Avionics Evaluation Test administered by Avionics management that measures the ability to read electronic schematics, identify electronic components, discuss electronic circuit operation and operate analog and digital meters. Additionally, candidate must also be able to obtain IPC-7711/7721 soldering certification through Module 5 within 12 months of assignment. Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) experience required.  FCC license is required. Candidate must be able to read and write English and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals. Must be willing to work rotating or fixed shifts. Candidate must achieve a satisfactory score on the mechanical aptitude test which is structured to determine the ability to perform essential job functions. Should be able to meet the physical requirements which qualify a person to perform essential job functions including the ability to lift up to 70 pounds.  As required by the FAA for all persons in safety-sensitive positions, candidates selected for this position are required to pass an extensive background check, drug test, and hearing test. Qualifications:
Minimum/basic skills & qualifications an individual qualified for this position should possess.

• Experience in performing Kitting or material handling in a manufacturing type of environment preferred. • Able to use manual hand tools (i.e. hammer, drill, pry bar, etc.)

Responsibilities: 
Under the direction of Manufacturing Management, the Kitting Clerk will be responsible for making sure that all required raw materials and documentation are delivered to production work cells.

 

• Read and understand released engineering data to include parts lists, drawings, test plans and service bulletins.

• Coordinate activities with peers on the shipping, receiving and stock-room teams

• Ensure proper paperwork is maintained with parts throughout the process.

• Perform work in a neat and organized manner within estimated or budgeted hours while maintaining high standards of quality.

• Operate necessary equipment for the packaging of parts and kits.

• Complete all required paperwork

• Safely operate forklifts (sit down and standup), pallet jacks and hand trucks.

• Perform all other duties assigned by Manager.

  • Testing with specialized equipment.
  • High reliability solder under a microscope.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Minimum/basic skills & qualifications an individual qualified for this position should possess. MUST have previous work experience fabricating composite panels used in aircraft cabin interiors. PLEASE NOTE: experience repairing or installing panels is not the experience we need.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset.
  • Previous work experience in manufacturing and independently following work instructions
  • Must be able to read and understand Delta, Boeing and Airbus process and material specifications.
  • Must be able to use precision measuring equipment.
  • Experience with MS Office products preferred
