CNC Lathe Machinist

2nd Shift CNC Lathe Machinist

 

 

A client of ours up in Lake Zurich is looking for a 2nd Shift CNC Machinist. They will be working from 4:00PM to 2:30AM, Monday through Friday and making anywhere from $20 to $28p/hour. The ideal candidate would have 3 to 4 years of experience working with CNC Lathes. A few must haves are:

 

  • Experience on CNC lathes a must (Daewoo, Okuma, etc.)
  • Basic operation of CNC equipment (load material, cycle start, unload material)

SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Assists with developing formulas, processes, and methods for solution of technical problems and testing procedures.
  • Analyzes gases to test for purity of gas or proper mixture.
  • Performs research on manufactured products to develop and improve products.
  • Performs research into composition, structure, properties, relationships, and reactions of matter.
  • Prepares standards and specifications for processes, products, and tests.
  • Performs routine maintenance and calibration on analytical equipment.
  • Calculates, prepares, and fills medical and specialty gas mixtures using partial pressure and gravimetric techniques.
  • Completes statistical analysis of all testing.
  • Maintains Cylinder Fill Record program and files.
  • Maintains and distributes Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS sheets) for each location.
  • Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Prepares Certificates of Conformance and Analysis for specifications of gases according to gas code and distributes as requested.
  • Orders and inventories materials in order to maintain supplies.
  • Responsible for quality assurance of products.
  • Participates in all required safety activities such as meetings, monthly expectations, and safety committee meetings.
  • Assists with other Specialty Gas department duties when needed.

 

LOCATION AND HOURS OF WORK  Typical hours for this position are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday at MATHESON’s Cylinder Distribution facility located in Waverly, NE.  This is a Full-time position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspection of aircraft engine parts, articles and components to ensure product quality in accordance with our Quality Management System to meet all current regulatory requirements and to meet or exceed customers requirements Work as a team member with peers/lead/supervisor/manager on development, deployment and execution of Quality/Inspection department/work center related metrics.
  • Process incoming and outgoing material to meet our Quality Management System (QMS) and Customer Requirements 
  • Follow FAA and DoD Regulatory guidance to establish sufficient traceability of products being inspected to help prevent the introduction of counterfeit and suspect unapproved parts into our inventory and/or our customers inventory
  • Inspector will be required to have a basic understanding of product certification from the Production Approval Holder and certification relative to products for return to service (airworthiness)
  • Inspection of product can include but is not limited to document review, visual inspection, packaging, shelf life, life limited records, materials subject to electrostatic discharge (ESD), etc.  Inspector may be required to review technical/regulatory data which may include but not limited to Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, FAA Order, Code of Federal Regulations, etc. 
  • Inspector may be required to use calibrated measurement/test equipment that can include but is not limited to digital micrometers, pin gages, digital height gages, digital calipers, etc. 
  • Ensuring that all work is performed / inspected to Purchase Order instructions, Repair Order instructions, Customer instructions, appropriate specifications and standards, etc.

Manually removes contents from tumblers.

Performs routine maintenance on the equipment and maintains all fluid levels.

This position has overall responsibility for receiving, picking and shipping parts as well as maintaining inventory accuracy.

We are looking for a 1st shift Manual Machinist for our Elk Grove Village Plant. This position will be working from 7:30AM to 4:00PM, Monday through Friday with the possibility for OT after shift’s and occasional Saturdays.   • Perform tasks directly related to the machining, modification and repair of fixtures and gages.
  • Perform tasks directly related to production and prototype parts made of various steels, alloys, engineered plastics and magnetic materials.
  • Complete jobs following detailed blueprints, customer specifications, internal work instructions and both written and verbal engineering instructions.
  • Operate powered machine tools such as manual toolroom lathes and mills, surface grinders, ID / OD grinders, wire EDM, sinker EDM, CNC mills and CNC lathes and related equipment required to meet customer demand.
  • Operate various hand tools, precision measuring equipment and associated gages and tooling.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and housekeeping duties.

  • Corporate aviation experience preferred on Dassault Falcon Jet, Bombardier, Gulfstream & Embraer.

  • Aviation training preferred. This training may take the form of military training, aeronautical academy or technical school training and/or an Aviation Associates Degree.

  •  General aviation experience preferred.

  • Must have proven mechanical and technical aptitude.

  • Must have proven experience using a variety of hand and/or power tools.

These will be working from 2:15PM to 10:45PM, Monday through Friday with the possibility for OT after shift’s and occasional Saturdays. They will be making $23 – $28p/hour and working on a 6 month contract to direct basis. A few must haves/responsibilities are:

 

– 5 years of setting up and operating surface grinders in high mix, low volume production environment.
-­ The work is job oriented, following detailed blueprints, customer specifications, internal work instructions, and engineering direction both written and verbal.
– Employees will set up and operate CNC Okamoto Surface Grinders.
– Comfortable with holding tight tolerances within .0004″ to .0002″ is a huge plus.
– Geometric symbol knowledge is a must.
– Worked with “earth materials” such as ceramic and “nealedium”. They run softer than steel and are far more delicate.
– Employee will also be required to inspect and document their work using precision measuring equipment and associated gauges and tooling.
– In addition, employees with this title will be tasked with preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties.
– Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

A large client of ours in Elk Grove Village, IL is looking for a 2nd shift CNC ID/OD Grinder. These will be working from 2:15PM to 10:45PM, Monday through Friday with the possibility for OT after shift’s and occasional Saturdays. They will be making $26 – $29p/hour and working on a 6 month contract to direct basis. A few must haves/responsibilities are:

 

– 5 to 7 years of set up and operating surface grinders in high mix, low volume production environment.
-­ The work is job oriented, following detailed blueprints, customer specifications, internal work instructions, and engineering direction both written and verbal.
– Employees will set up, program and operate Studer ID/OD Grinders.
– Comfortable with holding tight tolerances within .0004″ to .0002″ is a huge plus.
– Geometric symbol knowledge is a must.
– Candidates must understand machines spindle speed, clearance for counter bore, dressing a grinding wheel, reamers and oversize.
– Worked with “earth materials” such as ceramic and “nealedium”. They run softer than steel and are far more delicate.
– Employee will also be required to inspect and document their work using precision measuring equipment and associated gauges and tooling.
– In addition, employees with this title will be tasked with preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties.
– Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Team Supervisors will assist with install, inspect, and test, WIFI, IFE, Live TV, and interior lighting Modifications, in compliance with policies, manuals, procedures and requirements. Superiors will provide oversight of Teams groups on projects including budgeting, payroll, customer relations, and mechanic development. This is not a technician job but supervisors are expected to be able to get on the plane as needed, help troubleshoot issues if Team can’t resolve, and help develop mechanics so need to be able to show them what to do.

 

Qualifications and requirements: 

  • Wiring Modification experience on commercial airplanes preferred, corporate and military will be considered.
  • Must have at least decent AVI background – need to be able to get up and show the guys something / troubleshoot something as needed.
  • Routing, clamping and terminating wire harnesses per aircraft drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Must have a good understanding and proper selection of crimp tools and their usage.
  • Proficient in Coax and Qaudrax data connectors.
  • Must be able to maintain all paperwork correctly, to include daily signoffs of task cards.
  • Must be willing to work any shift as required for aircraft span reasons.

Diesel Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic tractor/trailer general maintenance and repairs, including, but not limited to welding.

  • Bachelor Degree is preferred but not required.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task.

  • Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
