Diesel Technician

1st Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am- 4pm
Exp. 2-5 years
Pay: $26-$232 based on exp.
The Diesel Technician Tractor will perform repairs on all diesel tractors and trailers also troubleshooting and estimation using diagnostic tools and corrective action Able to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s). Completes routine inspections and replacements, makes best value and safety decisions to continue to operate, repair or replace, and performs technical repairs and/or replacement. Uses American Trucking Association (ATA) system and other published and internet-based manuals and check sheets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Possess own set of tools and continually upgrades
- Basic welding & cutting
- Able to perform proper preventive maintenance - lube, filters, inspection – includes truck appearance, interior and exterior, cab related, safety, security
- Diagnose & repair basic electrical systems– starters, alternators, batteries
- Solid background in diesel tractor repair, trailer repair and maintenance.
- Basic understanding of tire maintenance– tread, inflation, rotation, wear, alignment, recondition wheels
- Basic understanding of exhaust related failures, DPF, DOC, EGR
- Basic computer skills
- Assist in parts inventory management
- Basic welding & cutting
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 2+ years of mechanic experience.
- Must have own tools.
- Must have own steel toe boots.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
