Engineering Team Lead
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Engineering Lead for a short term project in Hermosillo, Mexico.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directing and overseeing the engineering team in the conceptualization, design, and testing of aircraft systems.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and aircraft standards.
- Coordinating with other departments leads to ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Enhancing existing engineering processes and introducing new technologies to improve efficiency and quality.
- Managing the recruitment, training, and professional development of staff within the engineering department.
- Leading risk assessments and safety evaluations of aircraft systems.
- Documenting project phases and reporting progress to higher management and stakeholders.
- Key Tasks and Duties
- Specific tasks expected from an Aviation Engineering Lead include:
- Conducting regular project reviews and updates to monitor engineering progress and adherence to goals.
- Drafting detailed project plans that outline necessary resources and timelines.
- Collaborating with product managers and other engineering teams to integrate systems and troubleshoot issues.
- Providing technical expertise and support during the production and assembly phases.
- Optimizing team workflows to achieve technical excellence and efficient outputs.
- Participating in international conferences and seminars to stay abreast of industry trends and technologies.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Bilingual / fluency in Spanish required
- A Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required; a master’s degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
- Professional engineering (PE) certification or the ability to obtain it within a designated period.
- Extensive experience in aerospace engineering, typically not less than 10 years with progressive responsibilities.
- Solid grounding in CAD software and other engineering tools specific to aerospace applications.
- Demonstrable experience with leadership positions within engineering projects or teams.
- Familiarity with the regulatory environment of aviation, including FAA regulations and requirements.
- Prospective candidates should also possess exceptional problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven record of leading high-performing teams in complex engineering. Communication in a Bi-Lingual workplace (English-Spanish).
