Oak Brook, IL — LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions (“LAUNCH”) announced today that Michael Lorenzini has been appointed as its Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Lorenzini comes to LAUNCH with 30 years of successful leadership experience in aviation maintenance and engineering and MRO for top airline companies.
This newly created position fulfills a significant element of LAUNCH’s growth strategy, and as such the search for the ideal candidate was meticulous. “We are confident that Michael possesses the vision and leadership acumen to help LAUNCH continue to expand and gain market share,“ says Mike Guagenti, CEO of LAUNCH. “Michael’s values and commitment to excellence align with ours. When we evaluated the requisites for this role, he checked all the boxes—and his track record for achieving results speaks for itself.”
For more than a decade, Lorenzini worked at United Airlines—starting as an operating manager in a regional maintenance center. His outstanding performance led him up the ranks into increasing areas of accountability in line and base operations, ground and facility management, supply chain and vendor management, planning, logistics, and more. Lorenzini eventually became Managing Director of Technical Operations with responsibility for 2500 professionals supporting a fleet of 700 aircraft. Lorenzini was also accountable for MRO third party maintenance sales, business development and revenue growth. Among his many accomplishments is leading the successful merger of the Maintenance and Engineering Divisions of United and Continental Airlines.
Most recently, Lorenzini served as Senior Vice President at Gogo, responsible for leading engineering, certification, installation and operational support on industry leading air-to-ground and satellite connectivity technology for 34 airline partners around the globe. His focus on process improvement, team development and integration, and third-party partnerships enabled critical operational efficiency, enhanced quality, and cost reduction.
Michael Lorenzini declares this opportunity, “a perfect fit,” and adds, “I have great respect for the folks at LAUNCH and what they have accomplished in such a short time. And, I am highly motivated to lend my experience and insight to build upon and amplify their success.” As LAUNCH’s CCO, Lorenzini will be primarily responsible for the management and oversight of LAUNCH’s Aviation divisions, including LAUNCH Technicians, Teams, Professional, and Engineering. The depth of his industry knowledge, his expertise in executing complex business strategy, and his focus on collaboration and operational excellence will be key in driving LAUNCH’s growth strategy and executing the organization’s client service and revenue goals.
