Title: Lead Diesel Technician / Shop Foreman
Location: Concord, NC
Shift: Monday - Friday 1st Shift
Hours: 7am - 5pm
Pay $45-$55 Per hour
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostic & Advanced Repair (Primary Focus)

Complex Troubleshooting: Lead the diagnosis of complex electrical, ECM, engine, transmission, and aftertreatment (DPF/DEF/SCR) issues using OEM-level software (Cummins INSITE, Detroit DDDL, PACCAR Davie4, Volvo VODIA).

Advanced Mechanical Repair: Perform in-frame/out-of-frame overhauls, powertrain diagnostics, air brake/ABS systems, and hydraulic troubleshooting across all Class 6–8 makes and models (Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, International).

Quality Assurance: Verify diagnostic accuracy before tear-down and inspect finished work to maintain zero-comeback quality standards.
Leadership & Shop Management Track

Technical Mentorship: Guide, assist, and train mid-level and junior technicians through tricky diagnostic procedures and proper repair standards.

Workflow Management: Partner with service advisors and management to triage incoming jobs, assign work based on technician skill level, and keep jobs moving efficiently through the bays.

Customer & Estimate Support: Assist in building accurate labor/parts estimates for complex jobs and explain technical findings to management or fleet customers when necessary.

Shop Leadership Growth: Step in to oversee daily shop operations during manager absences, with the goal of transitioning into a full-time Shop Supervisor/Manager role as you demonstrate operational leadership.
Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician working on Class 6–8 commercial trucks.

Diagnostic Expertise: Expert proficiency with diagnostic software (Cummins INSITE, Detroit DDDL, PACCAR Davie4, or similar OEM systems) and electrical wiring schematics.

Leadership Potential: Strong communication skills, a team-first mindset, and the desire/aptitude to step into a supervisory role.

Certifications: ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (e.g., T2 Diesel Engines, T4 Brakes, T6 Electrical, T8 PM) or OEM factory training preferred. Valid Class A or B CDL is a plus.

Tools: Must possess a complete set of heavy-duty hand tools and air/power tools suitable for Class 8 repair.
