LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Senior Engineering Project Manager for an opportunity in Atlanta, GA.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Senior Project Manager serves as project manager for capital modifications to the client’s fleet of aircraft. This position oversees large and complex divisional and/or cross-divisional projects with moderate financial risk and extensive change management requirements. 

  • Coordinates processes related to engineering programs through interaction with business units as well as all levels of management.
  • Works with departmental representatives to manage workload to ensure project complection.
  • Reports engineering project status, assembles and coordinates responsibilities and timelines to project teams comprised of Project Managers, Engineering, Maintenance, Materials, Planning and external vendors.
  • Creation and maintaining of project plan templates within proposed tool(s).
  • The Senior Project Manager oversees plan development including length and difficulty of tasks, aligns resources, reprioritizes projects and resources in order to manage risk and tracks applicable changes and impact.
  • Reports project status, facilitates the escalation process, maintains WIP control and evaluates processes for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Develops mitigation responses and strategies to address project risks; serves as liaison and main Point of Contact between the different divisional team members, and external vendors (when applicable)
  • Facilitates planning of complex projects and measures the program goals and objectives; and reports status and addresses program questions to the GM-Process and Compliance and other senior level officers and directors. 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Up to 25% travel required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field including engineering, math, business or A&P Mechanics license with proven track record of out of the box thinking and an ability to think large scale.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Must have a commitment to continuous improvement with Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to successfully execute and manage the scope, schedule and resources of divisional and cross-divisional projects.
  • Must be willing to work evenings/ weekends when required to meet operational needs.
  • Knowledge of or experience with TechOps policies and procedures in the development and/or execution of aircraft modifications, alterations, repairs or maintenance programs is desired.

The Tool Equivalency Analyst provides direct technical support to Line, Base, Engine, and Component Maintenance organizations to ensure the provision and equivalency of safe, compliant, and cost effective equipment which is necessary for aircraft reliability and on time performance. 

 

Qualifications and requirements:

 

  • Past technical experience working in aircraft maintenance, machine shop, or ground support equipment as an AMT, Avionics, Machinist, GMT or is a licensed Engineer.
  • Possession of Airframe and/or Power-plant licenses is highly desirable as is a college degree.
  • Minimum of three years in a maintenance environment is required.
  • Experience and ability to read and interpret AAs, SBs, ADs, wiring diagrams, AMMs, CMs, Ems, tool designs, and other technical documents preferred.
  • Understanding of tool design preferred. Understanding of ARINC 668 tool equivalency is preferred.
  • Experience in aircraft parts Avionics test stands is preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

LAUNCH is looking for an aggressive person who loves to negotiate for the position of a Buyer.  This Buyer position will analyze costs related to parts repairs.  The best Buyers will be repsonsible for the following activates:

 

  • Conduct market research and strategically sources goods and services utilizing completive bids when necessary.
  • Enters into purchase agreements of goods and services for maintenance division to provide Aircraft Spares inventory and supplies.
  • Support the acquisition of goods and services for other divisions when required.
  • Monitor and analyze MROS requisitions.
  • Monitor overdue purchase orders to ensure supplier performance and availability.
  • Establishes order streams for certain components based on usage fir heavy maintenance, modification programs, or to meet usage requirements.
  • Obtain the approval for goods and services that exceed $3000.00. Obtain authorization for approval on orders that exceed $3000.00.
  • Assist in the sale of Surplus inventory and purchase inventory to support external vendors.
  • Generate orders for goods and services to support the operation.
  • Update the MROS PN Build.
  • All specific job functions as outlined in associated maintenance GMM’s.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor – Purchasing.

 

Qualifications and requirements 

  • Two years experience in the airline industry, preferably in maintenance or maintenance activity, preferred.
  • Strong technical background or ability to read technical drawings a plus.
  • Strong data entry skills a requirement.
  • Purchasing, negotiation, and/or contract on the job experience.
  • Basic business skills, such as reconciliation, phone etiquette, and e-mail communication;
  •  Knowledge of databases and a working knowledge of Excel. 
  • A professional who is willing to negotiate to get the best deal for the company.  Must have the ability to say no.
  • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
  • Must be willing to work any shift.

  • Collaborate with teams for creating a world class logistics process
  • Implement transport cost reduction initiatives
  • Identify and provide recommendations for program initiatives related to logistics
  • Manage the logistics related RFQ process including all stages of sourcing
  • Perform routing audits of all logistics spend valued at over $11M annually
  • Provide solutions for shipments held in customs (import/export)
  • Mange the process of moving hazardous materials
  • Develop logistics program standard for the organization
  • Primary point of contact in organization for logistics

 

Qualifications and Requirements 

 

Required:

  • Knowledge of CFR 19 and Customs & Border Protection
  • Overall general knowledge of the logistics industry, especially as it relates to import/export requirements
  • General knowledge of the requirements for shipping hazardous materials
  • Negotiations and buying skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Understanding of basic contract language
  • Comfort in training staff in process
  • Well organized
  • High School graduate or GED

Desired:

  • Lean and Six Sigma familiarity
  • Certification with APICS, ISM, or other logistics certification
  • Aircraft material buying/purchasing experience
  • Experience with TRAX / Aura
