Evaluate reliability metrics and develop plans to improve Understand LRU failures and participate in supplier RCA’s and countermeasure implementation. Review supplier Service Bulletins and issue paperwork for fleet implementation; including Software and Hardware changes. Review supplier Manual changes and issue paperwork for incorporation. Support IFE/IFC Reliability Team and participate in daily meeting

 

Qualifications and requirements:

 

  • 10 years aerospace experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Previous IFE or IFC experience
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills (ie. SixSigma, FMEA, etc)
  • Software Safety (ie. DO-178B)
  • Operational Experience

The successful candidate serves as a contract engineer for Fleet Solutions Engineering team with a focus on Airbus and Boeing OEM products. Primary Responsibilities: – Support Engineering project development for a wide variety of Avionics, Structures, and Systems Engineering initiatives – Supporting shop, hangar and line maintenance customers in accomplishing Engineering projects. – Leaving the office environment and going to hangar, line, shop, planning and other support groups to gain details necessary to complete accurate project. Additional Responsibilities as needed: – Providing aircraft engineering support to a variety of internal customers and outside suppliers to support Engineering solutions for long term safety/reliability/cost effectiveness. – Reviewing, recommending, and implementing manufacturers’ service bulletins and other correspondence to affected fleets. – Reviewing data and recommending and implementing changes as required to improve aircraft reliability. This position reports to the Engineering Solutions Manager, and work demand will vary based on current departmental needs and priorities among multiple managers. Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being

 

Qualifications and requirements:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree is required. Prefer candidates have: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 3-5 yrs aviation related experience, Master’s Degree in Engineering with 1-3 yrs aviation related experience, Ph.D. Degree in Engineering, or 5-9 years in a technical aviation related discipline with at least 2-3 yrs in an aviation engineering organization.
  • Project Management skills or certifications a plus.
  • Previous airline, military, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems, FAR 121 dispatch regulations, computers and programming is desirable.
  • Works under minimal direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
  • Only complex/difficult projects are reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Majority of projects require no review. Solid understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories and concepts as they pertain to his/her job function.
  • General knowledge of engineering related disciplines outside his/her job function.
  • Provide feasible alternatives to solve difficult technical problems over a wide scope. Solutions are imaginative and practical.
  • Familiarity with Boeing and Airbus products is favorable.
  • Project Management experience desirable.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Responsible to ensure all issued Engineering instructions follow all technical specifications and policies. Responsible to make timely assessments of structural, system, cabin, or avionics difficulty affecting line maintenance. This includes SRM/AMM navigation, IPC interchangeability, AD/Service Bulletin/modification status, and compliance to all FAA standards (Fuel Tank Safety CCDLs, EWIS requirements, CMRs and AWLs). Responsible to coordinate trouble shooting and corrective actions (repair, modification, and inspection instructions) with maintenance technicians, managers, and foremen to minimize impact to the operations. Must practice safety-conscious behaviors. Working hours based on operational requirements.

 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • 4-7 years Four year accredited undergraduate engineering degree required. Aeronautical/Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical preferred. Other Engineering degrees (such as Chemical, Civil, or Structural) will be considered.
  • Must possess leadership, communication, and technical credibility skills in at least one of the following areas: (1) Structural Analysis, including Statics, Mechanics of Deformable Bodies, Materials Science and Fracture Mechanics; or (2) troubleshooting and corrective actions with cabin/aircraft/electrical systems.
  • At least 9 years of experience in the design and analysis of aircraft structural, system, and/or cabin repairs.
  • Previous experience with aging aircraft structure is preferred. At least 3 years of experience providing engineering support for line aircraft and live aircraft operations.
  • Experience as a lead/manager in an Airline Engineering department.
  • Ability to analyze incomplete information, make timely decisions, develop innovative solutions, and mitigate risks to both safety and the operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations and/or familiarity with EASA regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of engineering, maintenance, and planning.
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Access) and AutoCAD (or similar CAD software).
  • Candidate must be available for Technical Operations on-site job training and business familiarization required during the initial period of employment
  • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Structures Mechanics will fabricate, repair, replace and rebuild aircraft parts and structures on commercial aircraft in compliance with policies, manuals, procedures and requirements.

 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • 1+ year of composite experience required.
  • Previous Composite Repair experience in a Part 145 Repair Station a plus.
  • Must have the minimum tools as required.
  • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
  • Must be willing to work any shift.
  • Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
