Qualifications and requirements:

 

  • Must have extensive aircraft interiors engineering experience including LOPA configurations.

  • Previous experience with commercial aircraft and/or engines is preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Responsible to ensure all issued Engineering instructions follow all technical specifications and policies. Responsible to make timely assessments of structural, system, cabin, or avionics difficulty affecting line maintenance. This includes SRM/AMM navigation, IPC interchangeability, AD/Service Bulletin/modification status, and compliance to all FAA standards (Fuel Tank Safety CCDLs, EWIS requirements, CMRs and AWLs). Responsible to coordinate trouble shooting and corrective actions (repair, modification, and inspection instructions) with maintenance technicians, managers, and foremen to minimize impact to the operations. Must practice safety-conscious behaviors. Working hours based on operational requirements.

 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • 4-7 years Four year accredited undergraduate engineering degree required. Aeronautical/Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical preferred. Other Engineering degrees (such as Chemical, Civil, or Structural) will be considered.
  • Must possess leadership, communication, and technical credibility skills in at least one of the following areas: (1) Structural Analysis, including Statics, Mechanics of Deformable Bodies, Materials Science and Fracture Mechanics; or (2) troubleshooting and corrective actions with cabin/aircraft/electrical systems.
  • At least 9 years of experience in the design and analysis of aircraft structural, system, and/or cabin repairs.
  • Previous experience with aging aircraft structure is preferred. At least 3 years of experience providing engineering support for line aircraft and live aircraft operations.
  • Experience as a lead/manager in an Airline Engineering department.
  • Ability to analyze incomplete information, make timely decisions, develop innovative solutions, and mitigate risks to both safety and the operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations and/or familiarity with EASA regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of engineering, maintenance, and planning.
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Access) and AutoCAD (or similar CAD software).
  • Candidate must be available for Technical Operations on-site job training and business familiarization required during the initial period of employment

  • Coordinates processes related to engineering programs through interaction with business units as well as all levels of management.
  • Works with departmental representatives to manage workload to ensure project complection.
  • Reports engineering project status, assembles and coordinates responsibilities and timelines to project teams comprised of Project Managers, Engineering, Maintenance, Materials, Planning and external vendors.
  • Creation and maintaining of project plan templates within proposed tool(s).
  • The Senior Project Manager oversees plan development including length and difficulty of tasks, aligns resources, reprioritizes projects and resources in order to manage risk and tracks applicable changes and impact.
  • Reports project status, facilitates the escalation process, maintains WIP control and evaluates processes for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Develops mitigation responses and strategies to address project risks; serves as liaison and main Point of Contact between the different divisional team members, and external vendors (when applicable)
  • Facilitates planning of complex projects and measures the program goals and objectives; and reports status and addresses program questions to the GM-Process and Compliance and other senior level officers and directors.

The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance and Reliability Planning Analyst is responsible for forecasting, developing and implementing maintenance activities to support the GSE Reliability Program. Similar to the Aircraft Reliability Program, this role uses failure trend analysis, GSE performance metrics, reports, maintenance records and information from equipment manufacturers to determine actions that will improve vehicle fleet reliability and optimize resource use. Works closely with GSE Analysts, Engineers, Technicians, Delta’s part supplier and GSE Management to identify, quantify and advocate for improvement opportunities. Develop both strategic and tactical plans which practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. Responsible for review and scheduling of GSE maintenance events in the EBis maintenance and asset tracking system. This position is directly responsible to the Manager of Engineering. GSE is comprised of Delta owned or leased, motorized and non-motorized equipment, aircraft deicing equipment, baggage screening and conveyance equipment, passenger boarding bridges and system scales. The GSE organization sources, maintains and disposes of these assets. These services are provided to Delta’s Airport Customer Service, Cargo, Technical Operations and other departments resulting in safe, cost effective, and reliable ground aircraft operations.

 

  • Minimum of two to four years’ experience in maintenance planning.
  • A bachelor’s degree in related Business or Engineering, BSME or BSEE (Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer) is required with a master’s degree preferred.
  • Candidate must have strong analytical abilities to digest, organize and distill actionable conclusions from available data. Candidate will also need planning and administrative skills and possess strong written and verbal communication abilities for conveying technical information to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Candidate should have knowledge of safety conditions and standards as they affect passengers, employees, aircraft and equipment.
  • Must be able and willing to work extended hours and be subject to “on call” responses during off hours.
  • Prior experience in maintenance planning and administration is absolutely required with a working knowledge of fleet maintenance management as related to development, control, and monitoring of routine and non-routine maintenance programs.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and reporting functions to meet required deadlines, as well as knowledge of industry standards relating to ground support equipment and technical interface between stationary ground support equipment and terminal facilities.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of equipment maintenance processes, including adherence to budgets, schedules and costing methods.
  • Candidate must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly MS Excel as well as maintenance and asset tracking software such as EBis.
