  • Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Must be able to use the FAA approved data proficiently. (i.e., IPC, AMM, OHM, SRM.)
  • Familiar with B737, B747, B757, B767, B777, MD88/90, DC-9 and A319/320 aircraft types and associated engines.
  • Practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Job Summary:

The Aircraft Support Mechanic (ASM) –  Avionics is part of the Component Maintenance team within TechOps.  In this role, you will perform or assist in the disassembly, cleaning, repair, assembly, and testing of aircraft components to help ensure safe, on-time departures of Delta’s fleet of aircraft and the fleet of other companies who have selected Delta as their maintenance provider.  You will be expected to utilize appropriate tools, chemicals, and equipment safely to effectively and efficiently accomplish shop/aircraft related functions. You will be required to learn all maintenance utility processes and functions within the shop and be willing to help out where necessary. Job Qualifications:

The Aircraft Support Mechanic – Avionics position requires a high school diploma or equivalent is required as well as at least six (6) months of acceptable mechanical experience or appropriate technical training. Candidates who have graduated from high school with a vocational diploma or other diploma that includes a minimum of six (6) units of study (2-3 years) in a major vocational field will be considered. The acceptable vocational fields are: automotive, sheet metal and electrical/electronics. To be considered based on high school vocational qualifications, candidates must provide copies of their high school transcripts listing courses, grades and credits. Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to aircraft systems is required. Candidates must pass job related tests which are designed to determine aptitudes and abilities to perform essential job functions. Tests are administered based on Delta’s protocol and procedures. While this is not a comprehensive list, some tests will cover the ability to read electronic schematics, identify electronic components, discuss electronic circuit operation, and operate analog and digital. Any certifications in EPA refrigerants or experience are preferred. LAUNCH TransTechs is seeking a School Bus Mechanic to perform assigned preventative vehicle maintenance related functions and facility maintenance to assist in maintaining school buses in safe, comfortable and like new operable condition.

 

Pay: $23-$25 per hour, depending on experience

Shift: Start Between 6AM-9AM Full Time (1 Hour Lunch) M-F

 

School Bus Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works under the direct supervision of an assigned skilled and certified journeyman technician to receive hands-on training.
  • Performs assigned vehicle and facility maintenance related duties (e.g. vehicle washing, cleaning, fueling, oil changes, lubrication, light vehicle repair etc.) in a safe and timely manner.
  • Arranges for and obtains appropriate inspections and approval of all repairs before vehicle is released from maintenance facility.
  • Assist in conducting frequent DOT inspections.

Structures Mechanics will fabricate, repair, replace and rebuild aircraft parts and structures on commercial aircraft in compliance with policies, manuals, procedures and requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilites:

  • Repair body or structure of aircraft according to specifications.
  • Reinstall repaired or replacement parts for subsequent riveting or welding, using clamps and wrenches.
  • Read work orders, job instruction cards, blueprints, and specifications or examine sample or damaged parts or structures to determine repairs or fabrication procedures and sequence of operations.
  • Locate and mark dimension and reference lines on defective or replacement parts, using templates, scribes, compass, and steel rule.
  • Cure bonded structures, using portable or stationary curing equipment.
  • Communicate with other workers to fit and align heavy parts or expedite processing of repair parts.
  • Clean, strip, prime and sand structural surfaces and materials prior to bonding.
  • Repair or fabricate defective sections or parts, using metal fabricating machines, saws, brakes, shears, and grinders.
  • Remove or cut out defective parts or drill holes to gain access to internal defects or damages, using drill and punch.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifcations and Requirements: 

  • Airframe and Powerplant license not required but must have at least 3-5 years aviation sheetmetal experience.
  • Must be able to read and write English and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals.
  • Must be able to accomplish any and all repairs, modifications, engineering orders, etc, with very little to no assistance.   
  • Must be able to use the FAA approved data proficiently. (i.e., IPC, AMM, OHM, SRM.)  
  • Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successfully complete a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records check prior to beginning work.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Provide day to day maintenance operational oversight for a FAR Part 121 regional airline. Provide technical assistance to mechanics, flight crews and dispatchers, for any and all maintenance discrepancies associated with aircraft repairs and servicing. Act as the main point of communication for the Maintenance Department to the following departments: Flight Operations, Dispatch, Technical Engineering and Logistics/Purchasing on all aircraft maintenance related issues. Coordinate with aircraft maintenance contract companies to insure safe and efficient operations. Coordinate corporate resources to return airworthy aircraft to the published schedule.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License

Job Specifics:

  • Monitoring of the day-to-day operation and handling of aircraft maintenance activities/irregularities in a safe expeditious manner.
  • Make decisions concerning the course of action required to ensure safe, airworthy aircraft in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the movement and tracking of resources (e.g. parts, tools, manpower and technical data) needed for repair of discrepant aircraft.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Planners and System Operation Control (SOC) to ensure optimum fleet utilization while preserving scheduled maintenance requirements.
  • Provide updates to Maintenance Planning regarding aircraft status, parts, and/or manpower requirements so Deferred
  • Maintenance Items (DMI’s) can be scheduled for correction.
  • Implement any changes to the scheduled workload because of non-availability of aircraft, such as Carry Forward, and removal of scheduled Work Orders (WO’s) from work packs based on time remaining and Priority.
  • Support the Maintenance Department with hands-on aircraft troubleshooting and repairs at a variety of locations on an infrequent/ special needs basis.
  • Perform other specific duties as assigned by the Maintenance Control Supervisor and as described throughout the General Maintenance Manual (GMM).
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift, carry and move medium to heavy weights of 50 pounds or more.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity.
  • There are prolonged periods during which individuals will be sitting. Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop occasionally in confined spaces.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in an office environment. May be required to maintain aircraft in an outdoors or hangar location on occasion. Some travel, less than 10% may be required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Fleet Support Coordinator will provide direct oversight to the RMAG (Recurrent Maintenance Action Group) process and also assist the Maintenance Department in troubleshooting and documenting aircraft with recurring (chronic) maintenance issues. This is accomplished by monitoring incoming maintenance discrepancies, analyzing aircraft data downloads, using the EMBRAER AHEAD program, reliability data, and other resources within Compass Airlines.

Job Qualifications:

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license

Preferred:

  • Five year’s FAR 121 air carrier aircraft maintenance background with experience in a supervisory role as a Maintenance

  • Ensure updates are provided to the Maintenance Department as to status of work being performed on aircraft with recurring, pending, grounding issues.
  • Ensure coordination with Maintenance Control on the movement of staffing, parts, and tooling required for task accomplishment under this program.
  • Interface with OEM providers on fleet issues and initiatives, reliability enhancements and processes, ongoing coordination for increased reliability.
  • Present a complete turnover of RMAG status on a daily basis.

  • Expertly prepare and complete various documents for maintenance/ modification record keeping purposes, as required by FAA Airworthiness Regulations, Elliott Aviation Policies and Processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, including project turnovers, and personal training logs (OJT). Instruct and assist Tech I & Tech II in proper completion of documentation.
  • Demonstrate proficient use of the Elliott Aviation Work Order system by completing accurate and timely listing of discrepancies, and completing accurate corrective action statements including completion of Service Bulletin and Airworthiness Directives (AD) compliance statements (ref. FAR §91.417).
  • Willingly and effectively share knowledge and learned trusted techniques with lesser experienced technicians through the OJT program to foster their development, ensure accurate work, and support the department goals. Act as mentor and task expert for new service personnel.
  • Proficiently and consistently locate and uses the appropriate technical data to accomplish any and all tasks.
  • Support, maintain, and comply with all Federal, OSHA, State and local regulations, and Elliott Aviation’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and Processes.
  • Leads aircraft projects as directed by the Crew Chief and Supervisor. Capable of accepting ownership of the assigned project work scope and established milestones relative to the successful and timely completion of in-work projects.
