Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Meggitt Energy and Equipment is a Meggitt division specializing in sensing and monitoring systems. We measure physical parameters in the extreme environments of aircraft, space vehicles, power generators, nuclear, oil and gas installations and test labs. Meggitt Energy and Equipment is seeking a key Program Manager to join our Orange County division. This position requires the program manager to be based at the Ontic site in Chatsworth (Located at: 20400 Plummer Street, Chatsworth, California 91311).
The Program Manager will work closely with the Meggitt OC team and the Ontic team consisting of Program Management, Engineering, Product Managers Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Operations, to closely manage the Meggitt ToW projects to Ontic.
The Program Manager will be called upon to provide coordination of the ToW efforts relating to all aspects related to delivery schedule, coordinating deliveries with Ontic, Meggitt OC and the applicable customer. The successful candidate may have to travel to Meggitt OC (4 Marconi, Irvine, CA 92618) for meetings and other ToW related activities.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES: To achieve the mission for this position, the PM must produce the following critical actions and results:
Project Planning: The PM will follow established guidelines to closely monitor the delivery dates at Ontic and work with the Ontic and Meggitt team to ensure on-time delivery of the product.
Project Coordination: Working closely with the Meggitt OC and the Ontic team in addressing issues on the RAIL (Rolling Action Item List).
Project Participation: Participate in the program meetings and provide answers on delivery status and any open actions.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: The success of the PM in achieving the objectives described above will be measured by the following:
Successfully managing projects, ensuring on-time delivery, high quality products, and satisfactory budget performance.
Holding the Ontic team accountable to the dates provided by Ontic planning and program management.
Being perceived internally as a key leader who can drive to results.
Education: Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Experience: 5+ years of Program management experience, including 3 years of experience in a commercial aerospace system environment. Experience managing projects in a matrix environment is strongly desired.
Knowledge and skills: Knowledge of Risk Management & MS Project desired. The PM should be very adept with computer applications, including MS Office Suite, MS Project. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.

Duration of assignment: 1 to 3 months (20 hours per week).
