Service Technician

Location: Sumner, Washington, United States
Full-time

We have a great opportunity for a Field Service Engineer II in our brand new facility in Sumner.  The Service Technician is responsible for working on tear down, inspection, and assembly of industrial off-road power shift transmissions and torque converters, as well as working on heavy-duty off-highway equipment.

 

 

This is a Mobile remote fulltime role.

 

The Field Service Engineer II will be provided a fully loaded service vehichle. It will be equippd with appropiate tools and laptop for diagnostics. The service tech will be dispatch from his home for service calls. He is required to take the vehicle home after each completed day.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced technician to work as a Field Service Engineer servicing the west coast of the United States. The Field Service Engineer will travel to conduct field service engineering work, O.E.M. equipment start-ups and commissioning, field service troubleshooting, and communication with customers and managers.

We are responsible for full-service design, build, and support off-highway engineering equipment. As part of the the family, they offer a unique combination of product expertise and access, along with engineering expertise in equipment manufacturing to offer a one-stop shop to OEM’s looking for everything from component application support to contract manufacturing and everything in between.

How do you know if you are the right candidate?
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diesel engine propulsion systems, diesel-electric systems, diesel-hydraulic systems, electro-hydraulic systems, hybrid electric systems, or full electric systems. This person should also enjoy providing high-quality customer service and be comfortable with extensive amounts of travel. We are looking for an experienced technician or a technician with a high drive for learning and problem-solving.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct and perform installations of new systems, equipment, hardware, software
Conduct and perform activities related to marine installation reviews, marine sea trials, non-marine installation reviews, non-marine commissioning
Responsible for using, maintaining, and servicing FSE Team tools and equipment

Continuous Improvement and feedback on PJPS equipment and services
Document activities and observations from field jobs via Salesforce in a timely manner
Identify additional sales and service opportunities
Participate in training and development activities
Mentor and coach other technicians
Maintain company, product, customer, and vendor confidentiality
Provide a high level of customer service and communications both internally and externally
Domestic Travel 50-80%; International travel possible

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Diesel engine system service, maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning
Electro-mechanical and Electro-hydraulic knowledge experience
Basic to Advanced level of understanding in Diesel and/or electric power generation systems and mechanical power transmission systems (transmission, PTO, axles)
Comfortable learning new technology and using computer programs (Salesforce, Microsoft Suite, and more)
Ability to swim and work in high or confined spaces (required)
Ability to perform physical labor (up to 80% of role) and lift up to 50 lbs
Good technical writing and oral communication skills
Hungry for knowledge and solving problems
Experience in electrical systems and/or component design/building (electrical cabinet building, wiring harnesses, monitoring) (preferred)
Familiarity with working on high voltage and high power circuits (preferred)
Knowledge of and experience with PLCs and troubleshooting a plus (preferred)
Advanced understanding of one or more engine platforms: CAT, Cummins, John Deere, Deutz, Volvo, Scania, or Perkins (preferred)

Qualifications:

2-year technical degree (preferred, not required)
7+ years experience in similar industry technical role
Valid Driver’s License
Passport for international travel (preferred)
