Diesel Teractor Technician - Syracuse, NY
Shift: 1st M-F
Pay: $26-$28

75 Trucks – 100+ trailers

Expecations and Requirements
- Follow DOT & OSHA safety procedures consistently
- Perform proper preventive maintenance
- Diagnose and repair of trailer/chassis-related defects & repairs
- Examine, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical problems using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment
- Perform emergency road calls
- Perform DOT inspection per FMSCA guidelines
- Assist in parts inventory management
- Must be able to communicate with internal customers and have good customer service, oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction, stand or lie for extended periods to repair equipment, and have flexible movement: to reach equipment and/or parts and maneuver equipment
- Must be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions and an environment with excessive noise and respiratory hazards without restriction
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Preferred ability to obtain a Class B license
- Technical or advanced degree or equivalent maintenance experience
- Ability to learn windows-based computer systems
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs & maintenance
- Successfully demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Examples of teamwork and customer service skills, including good oral and written communication skills.
- On-site evaluation with recommended training
