MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION
** Will be auto sent a mechanical aptitude assessment upon being uploaded into VMS - must pass to move on to MSP review (comes before hiring manager review)

Here is some intel Shelgren was able to gather about the test :

  1. Lot of problem solving.
  2. Word problems and diagrams, “where would this go/should this be”
  3. Pulley’s, directions things would rotate.
  4. Thought it was pretty straightforward, some questions need to pay attention to wording.
  5. Assembly procedures, following directions.
  6. Very clean and user friendly, so she thought.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Wants to see longevity on resume! Want folks who will stick around
  • 1 year related structural assembly experience PREFERRED
    • 1 yr mechanic aptitude can suffice 
      • Automotive experience, working on small engines like lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc. body shop work, military related mechanical, etc. is all acceptable.  They just want to make sure they have a mechanical background, and they’ll train the rest.
  • Experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
 
  • One year experience credit considered for graduates of Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program.

JOB DESCRIPTION – FORMATTED TO BE SHARABLE

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations; ensures parts/assembly meet requirements.
Rivet structural assemblies and parts using all tools required. to do the job (e.g. portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets).
Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations, type size and hole pattern for rivets.
Check all work and ensure a defective free assembly prior to final inspection.
Maintain and use all logs and records (e.g. MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs).
Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supports the company 5S Program and complies with all safety regulations.
Work under moderate supervision on duties and tasks.
Support Lean Activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
