Located in Mt Prospect, IL this position is perfect for experienced diesel technicians passionate about vehicle maintenance and safety. You'll work with a diverse fleet of diesel buses, gas buses, and even a few minivans, supporting the transportation needs of local students and families. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance services such as fluid and filter changes, greasing, and inspections.
• Conduct basic repairs and troubleshooting to ensure buses operate safely and efficiently.
• Assist senior mechanics with more complex repairs, gaining valuable skills and experience.
• Use your toolbox and hand tools to complete work accurately, following safety protocols and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain consistent attendance and work safely, using all required PPE.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• At least 3 years of mechanic experience or recent graduation from a trade school
• Basic hand tools and toolbox
• Ability to perform standard maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience working on heavy equipment or diesel vehicles
• Ability to assist higher-level mechanics and perform repairs under supervision
• Excellent attendance and safety record

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay rate: $28 - $32 per hour
• Shift: 9 am - 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday
