Technical Writer
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Technical Writer
for position in Kent, WA.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Writes and edits technical procedures and reports related to aerospace testing to RTCA/DO-160, including qualification test procedures (QTPs), quality test reports (QTRs), similarity analysis, RTCA/DO-313 LED monitor reports, and other as required. Responsible for tracking status of reports by project and estimating times required to complete tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Tracks required documentation by certification project and identifies status of certification plans and reports. |
Develops and updates test plans in accordance with FAA/EASA applicant project requirements and in formats consistent with existing test plans
Locates appropriate test data and incorporates into test reports in established formats, develops technical language as necessary, and ensures numerical identification and revisions of referenced parts and documents are accurate. |
Qualifications and requirements:
- We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is able to take a high level of individual responsibility
- Create, deliver, and/or manage service manuals / user documentation for complex automated equipment.
- Research, interpret, analyze, and write by interpreting technical source information and determining appropriateness for inclusion into documentation and other content development.
- Prioritize work, balance multiple projects, and meet strict deadlines, with proven ability to work on many projects concurrently.
- Work closely with subject matter experts (i.e., development team, operations team, program managers,etc.) to learn and leverage core content and build effective documentation.
- Understand and communicate concepts quickly and accurately.
- Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with complex automated equipment
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent research, writing and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to details
- Demonstrated success in working in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering or other technical field
- 3-5 years of experience in technical content development and delivery in a corporate environment
- Experience working with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers is a plus
