Aerospace Laminator


LAUNCH is seeking an Aerospace Laminator for a contract to direct position in Auburn, WA   


Job Description


Assembles airplane components by laying composites and materials such as pre-impregnated fiberglass cloth onto molds by performing the following duties



Responsibilities Include                           

  • Cut materials to size and fasten materials to the mold, bagging the composites for oven-curing
  • Lays material on mold which move in and out of the work area on wheeled carts
  • Places core laminations and separators onto lay-up mandrel

Preferred Skills and Abilities  

  • Ability to use power and hand tools (i.e. scissors, box knives, glue/heat guns, scraper)
  • Basic understanding of process specifications
  • Able to work with/around fiberglass, resins, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail

Education and/or Experience   

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate requiring hearing protection in certain areas.  PPE is provided by the client based on the employee’s position and exposure.
