Qualifications:
6+ years. A&P Mechanic Certificate and aircraft maintenance experience is required, aircraft inspection experience is preferred. Applicants should demonstrate exceptional leadership, possess solid administrative, organizational and people skills. In addition, applicants should be detailed-oriented and have a high degree of self-discipline and work well without supervision. They should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and work well in a team environment. Must be able to manage multiple tasks with constantly changing priorities in an efficient and timely manner. Applicants must be able to interact with various departments and external agencies and negotiate solutions that are acceptable to each organization. Applicants must have excellent problem solving skills, ability to develop comprehensive corrective action plans; and the ability to handle sensitive issues with appropriate discretion. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work with industry standard computer applications such as Microsoft applications. All applicants must be performing satisfactorily in current position. The successful candidate will be required to achieve a special certification taught and approved by Delta Air Lines, Inc. similar to a FAA Airworthiness Designee. Responsibilities:
Responsible for liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other regulatory agencies on airworthiness matters. Responsible for reviewing drawings, checklists, and producing final inspection criteria for specific aircraft. Completing and submitting documents and forms to the FAA for approval. This position will require interaction with Maintenance Management, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and other Technical Operations departments, including Corporate Safety & Compliance as well as the FAA and other Government agencies. This position requires a significant amount of travel conducting physical inspections to aircraft to confirm compliance to CFR 14, Part 121 regulatory requirements.
