Auto Body Repair Technician

LAUNCH TransTechs is seeking an Auto Body Repair Technician to repair and refinish automotive vehicle bodies and straighten vehicle frames.

Shift: 7AM - 3:30PM 

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examine vehicles to determine the extent of the damage.
• File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
• Mix polyester resins and hardeners to be used in restoring damaged areas.
• Fix small dents that cannot be worked out with plastic or solder.
• Position dolly blocks against surfaces of dented areas and beat opposite surfaces to remove dents, using hammers.
• Sand body areas to be painted and cover bumpers, windows, and trim with masking tape or paper to protect them from the paint.
• Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical window and seat operating equipment and trim to gain access to vehicle bodies and fenders.
• Weld aluminum and steel parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in auto body repair; experience in heavy-duty truck body repair is preferred.
• Experience in fiberglass repairs, aluminum and steel welding and auto painting are required.
• The equivalent of a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Must have own set of tools.
• Must have steel toe boots.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
