Job Summary:

3rd Shift Lab Technician

 

We are currently looking to hire a full time lab technician on our 3rd shift at our food manufacturing facility in La Grange, IL. This position pays up to 18.50/hour and can interview and start ASAP.

 

Candidates must have 3-5+ years of lab technician experience from a food production environment. A 4 year degree is not required, but preferred.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Primary:

  • Performs analyses including micro testing and maintains documentation for all raw materials, in-process and finished goods against established standards
  • Calibrates instruments
  • Release and create COA product from Inspection
  • Releases raw materials from inspection
  • Organizes samples pick up by outside lab
  • Sends samples out to customer or outside lab
  • Maintains retention sample library
  • Performs allergen swabbing
  • Maintains computerized database
  • Preventive Control Individual which ensures all Food Safety Preventive Controls and Food Safety Plan’s controls are followed
  • Provides support and assists to all manufacturing personnel
  • Provides daily feedback to manager/supervisor.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate active participation and personal accountability in the continuous improvement process of Sokol.  This includes documenting observations, method change recommendations, understanding results metrics, and professional training.    

Secondary:

 

  • Maintains all appropriate technical specifications and COA’s for raw materials and finished goods
  • Maintain appropriate inventories of lab supplies
  • Maintains an organized and clean working environment
  • Maintains all confidential company formulations to assure compliance with established criteria and to accurately reflect production processes
  • Creates and operates within an environment that removes barriers within and between departments allowing the focus to be the overall success of the plant and the company
  • Keeps informed of new technical developments through professional memberships and study and initiate uses within the company
  • Reviews production paperwork including temperature charts
