Pump Test Technician
Direct Placement

Shift: Days
Hours: 7 AM – 3:30 PM (depends on jobs for the day/week)
Overtime: Can work 10-15 hours of OT while on the road. Paid for travel time.
Pay: $20-35/Hr
Per Diem: $75 per day
-Uniforms, Hotels, AirBNB’s, company credit card, gas all provided and paid for by the company.
-Computer/tablet provided by company, cell phone reimbursement (they are adding this)

Mobile Technician Role
Travel: Monday – Friday
-Will go into the shop Monday morning to get all gear, tools, load up the work truck, and then will take off to their designated territory for the week. They will return on Friday.
Territory: Illinois, Missouri, Iowa
Winter Time: when it’s below 32 degrees, they will work out of the Roxana, IL shop and not travel. Things slow down a bit in the winter from week to week but still 40+ hours in the shop. They get a break from travel.

Job Description
-Haul, set up, operate, and maintain the pump test trailer at customer fire department locations.
-Perform preventive maintenance on fire apparatus, including routine servicing, oil changes, aerial cleaning, and lubrication.
-Conduct inspections to ensure apparatus are in safe working condition and communicate repair needs to fire department personnel.
-Adhere to all company, OSHA, and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
-Calibrate and verify accuracy of gauges, flow meters, and testing equipment prior to use.
-Maintain pump test trailer and related equipment to ensure operational readiness.
-Troubleshoot and repair issues involving plumbing, valves, foam systems, and water tanks.
-Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in engines, transmissions, pumps, and related systems.
-Perform component-level diagnostics using appropriate tools and service documentation.
-Identify required parts and coordinate ordering with the service team.
-Ensure all work complies with applicable NFPA standards.
-Accurately document testing results, parts usage, inspections, and service activities.
-Complete required reports and certification documentation in a timely manner.
-Maintain compliance and certification records for serviced apparatus.
-Coordinate scheduling, service updates, and repair status with internal teams and fire department personnel.
-Represent the company professionally while working on-site.
-Communicate delays, additional repair needs, and safety concerns promptly.
-Provide responsive and professional customer service during all interactions.


Training
-Will train with a veteran Mobile Tech side by side on the road (Joe) for a month or so. Also will be made familiar with all equipment and job duties in the Roxana shop, trained in the shop. Mostly will be shown how to do pre-inspections and then will take on more job tasks once comfortable. Within 2-3 weeks they will be able to perform a pump test.

Interviews
Interviews will be with Molly Norris (HR), Taylor R (VP of Service), and Chad (Service Manager).
It will mostly be a conversation around their previous employers, mechanical aptitude, and then a lock down on willingness to travel and long term commitment to the role / company.

Tools
-will need to provide their own basic tools (wrench set, drills, impact). All specialty tools will be provided and outfitted on the work truck
